Class Notation of External FiFi System:
A) Class FiFi-1/2 or Lower FiFi systems, with capacities below FiFi-1, do not require classification. These fire pumps are typically powered by dedicated diesel engines, electric motors, or M/E PTO via gearboxes.
The standard configuration for Class FiFi-1/2 includes two units of 600 m3/h or a single unit of 1200 m3/h water/foam monitor.
Systems classified below FiFi-1/2 generally have a total capacity ranging from 180 m3/hr to 800 m3/hr.
B) The Class FiFi-1 system features two fire monitors with a combined water capacity of 2400 m3/hr, one to two fire pumps, and a water spray system that adheres to classification regulations. The minimum throw length in still air is 120m, and the minimum throw height is 45m.
C) The Class FiFi-2 system includes three to four fire monitors with a total water capacity of 7200 m3/h, two to four fire pumps, and a water spray system that complies with classification standards. The minimum throw length in still air is 150m, and the minimum throw height is 70m.
D) The Class FiFi-3 system comprises four fire monitors with a total water capacity of 9600 m3/h, two to four fire pumps, and a water spray system that meets classification standards. The minimum throw length in still air is 150m, and the minimum throw height is 70m. Additionally, two foam monitors are fitted, each with a capacity of 300 m3/h and a throw height of 50m.
