Class Notation of External FiFi System:
A)Class FiFi-1/2 or Lower FiFi systems with capacity less than FiFi-1 have no classification requirement. Fire pumps are usually driven by dedicated diesel engines, electric motors or M/E PTO via gearboxes.
Typical configuration of Class FiFi-1/2 consists of 2 units of 600 m3/h or 1 unit of 1200m3/h water/foam monitor.
Class lower than FiFi-1/2 systems are usually with total capacity from 180 m3/hr to 800 m3/hr.
B)Class FiFi-1 system consists of 2 fire monitors with total water capacity 2400 m3/hr, 1-2 fire pumps and water spray system meeting classification regulations. Minimum throw length for water in still air is 120m and minimum throw height is 45m.
C)Class FiFi-2 system consists of 3-4 fire monitors with total water capacity 7200 m3/h, 2-4 fire pumps and water spray system meeting classification regulations. Minimum throw length for water in still air is 150m and minimum throw height is 70m.
D)Class FiFi-3 system consists of 4 fire monitors with total water capacity 9600 m3/h, 2-4 fire pumps and water spray system meeting classification regulations. Minimum throw length for water in still air is 150m and minimum throw height is 70m. In addition, 2 foam monitors are to be fitted, each with capacity of 300 m3/h and throw height of 50m.
