Hydraulic anchoring and mooring capstan
Hydraulic capstan is driven by a hydraulic motor with counter balance valve, it can be operated at variable speeds with gearbox, and it's easy to operate. There is an in-built emergency stop system, the gearbox of the capstan is located in warping head and the motor also can be set in the warping head on request. Generally speaking, hydraulic capstans tend to be more powerful and efficient than their electric powered counterparts, which are known as electric capstans. Some ships adopt rope as line and some adopts cable and the others adopt chain or the combination of rope and chain, so there are hydraulic capstan rope winch and hydraulic capstan cable winch, and chain wheel should be equipped on the capstan for the chain.
